I have no illusions of grandeur. This is a blog, not a cure for cancer.
For those who know me, I suppose it was inevitable that I would start a blog. I’ve been writing about my life since I was nine-years-old and my mom bought me a journal for Christmas. I write to make sense of life or, more often, to cope with the nonsense of it.
I am also a story-teller and play host to some pretty persistent characters. They own me.
Characters and ideas live crowded in my mind. I can be a neglectful host, often letting life get in the way of expression. The voices in my head always win out though. My discontent reminds me who’s in charge. So I put pen to paper and I free them (and myself in the process.)
The advent of Facebook and Twitter gave me an outlet for my daily musings and a place to connect with family and friends I’ve met over the years. It’s been a (mostly) encouraging space to interact with people about ideas and passions. I hope this blog will be an extension of that conversation.
And for those of you I don’t yet know, welcome. I hope you find something that encourages, amuses, and maybe even challenges you. My only request is that you come with an open mind and a gracious heart. I promise to do the same.
So, by popular demand…from the voices in my head, let the conversation begin.
